Jimmy Spithill is a distinguished professional sailor, accomplished yachtsman, and motivational speaker, admired for his achievements in sailing and his ability to inspire others to chase their dreams.
Raised in Elvina Bay, Australia, Jimmy's passion for sailing began at a young age. With his early experiences windsurfing and racing dinghies, he quickly honed his skills on the water. At just 19 years old, he became the youngest America's Cup skipper, helming Young Australia 2000. By 30, he claimed the title of the youngest skipper to ever win the America's Cup aboard the 90-foot trimaran USA17.
Jimmy's incredible career includes the remarkable 2013 Oracle Team USA comeback victory against Emirates Team New Zealand, hailed as one of the greatest comebacks in international sport. He also holds multiple World Championships in match racing and one-design fleet racing, and has experienced success in the iconic Sydney-Hobart race, winning line honours in 2017 with a record-breaking performance on board Comanche.
Outside of sailing, Jimmy is an avid pilot, amateur boxer, and stand-up paddleboard enthusiast, having completed two Molokai to Oahu crossings.
