Rachel Parkin
Rachel is an experienced journalist and broadcaster with a passion for life, laughter and story-telling
- lucky enough to have found the perfect platform for that reporting on TVNZ's Seven Sharp.
After nearly two decades working across our fine nation, first in newspapers and then television, if it happened...chances are Rachel covered it.
From live earthquake coverage, to rampaging gunmen, to “Lucky” the sheep who thinks he’s a dog... Rachel's seen it all and comes equipped with yarns fit for any crowd.
Outside of the newsroom she’s the proud Mum of two sassy girls and if she's not wrangling them, you might find her out exercising in the Port Hills or cruising local ski slopes.
A born and bred Cantabrian, Rachel is southern-proud, but has a not-so-secret crush on the Bay of Plenty and its golden sands… after a dalliance there in her 20s and spent her formative broadcasting years in the capital.
If a real, relatable human is what you’re after… she’s your gal, but promises to ditch her Mum uniform (activewear) and scrub up for your special event.
