Sir Steve Hansen

Sir Steve Hansen is one of New Zealand’s most respected and successful rugby coaches, known worldwide for his sharp rugby brain, calm presence under pressure, and exceptional leadership.

As head coach of the All Blacks from 2012 to 2019, Steve guided the team to an impressive record, including the 2015 Rugby World Cup win and a dominant era that cemented the All Blacks as one of the most successful teams in sporting history. His coaching career with the All Blacks included a remarkable 87% winning record — a testament to his ability to bring out the best in people and maintain a strong team culture.

Since stepping away from the All Blacks, Steve has stayed close to the game internationally. In 2023, he took on an advisory role with the Wallabies in their World Cup build-up, and in 2024–2025 he’s continued mentoring coaches and teams worldwide. Steve is also active in the business world, working with organisations on leadership, decision-making under pressure, and building resilient teams.

On stage, Steve is straight-talking, insightful, and often surprisingly funny. He shares real stories from inside one of the world’s most high-performing environments and draws clear lessons on trust, adaptability, and the power of simplicity. His down-to-earth style resonates just as strongly in a corporate boardroom as it does with sporting audiences.

Ideal for:

Sir Steve shows audiences that great leadership isn’t about ego or big speeches — it’s about clarity, connection, and creating an environment where everyone can thrive.
