Hamish McKay

After a stellar 20 years with TV3, including leading the coverage of 3 Rugby World Cups, Hamish McKay continues his award winning broadcasting career as a key member of the NZME Radio hosting team across their rural portfolio, including The Country, and rugby commentary.
Hamish comfortably taps into his rural roots to provide insight into rural challenges, farm news, and is in his element interviewing all the key figures in agriculture, sport and politics. His deep roots in the Manawatu region and extensive media experience allow him to uniquely bridge the urban-rural divide.
He is active as an MC and commentator for various events and as a charity auctioneer. Voted New Zealand’s Best on The Box TV Sports Presenter 5 times during his 10 years as 3News Sports Anchor, Hamish also found fame as McKay’ver on the cult show Pulp Sport.
He continues to be a well-rounded media personality and is a strong choice for speaking engagements or event hosting. In addition to his media career, Hamish works as a property sales specialist and Auctioneer for Tremains Real Estate in the Manawatu, splitting his time between his province of origin and Auckland.
